Editing the Mass

A brief comment on this article:

For a denomination that claims to be the One True Church®, founded by Jesus Christ, why does it take 2000 years and counting to get the Mass just right? Why is every official version of the Mass just another draft version, to be continually revised? The Mass is the central rite in Catholicism. How long does it take to formulate it correctly?

The Roman church bears an uncanny resemblance to a human organization that’s improvising on the fly.

  2. Well, they've gotta keep pace with the times, you know :-)

  3. They're adding "with blessed Peter, her spouse" in an effort to get men involved. Not "husband," but "spouse". How clueless.

I haven't followed the Roman mass. Has it changed enough that the tradition-minded episcopalians, lutherans, and presbyterians are now closer to the medieval mass, in words if not in theology?

    1. Eric, you said: They're adding "with blessed Peter, her spouse"

Just a small correction: It's actually "Blessed Joseph".
